2009 Upcoming Programmes and Events!

Hey Joule Club Members!
How have u all been?
I know the dragonboat team people are very excited and happening about their new jerseys and paddles... they have been hogging the limelight here! Lol... ok la i'm not complaining.. cos they make this blog alive! hee...:)

Here are some updates in Joule Club and programmes and events U may want to consider joining!

Sports:

Dragonboat
This is held on saturdays mornings from 9am-12noon at Kallang Dragonboat Association. This is a regular programme at our centre where youths learn the basics of dragonboat and lifeskills through team bonding activities.

We currently have 1 dragonboat team (RFSC Dragons) of around 25 youths and young adults who trains regularly on staturdays and compete in yearly dragonboat compeitions. So, contact Joe if you are interested to learn dragonboat, be part of the team, or simply enjoy the thrill of watching dragonboat compeition, come and support RFSC Dragons in the competition! The next competition is in APRIL..!

Community Service (Overseas):

Footprints Expedition (Cambodia) in December
This is our annual overseas expedition trip to Phnom Phen, Cambodia. It is a 10 days trip whereby we embark on various projects such as building, health education, and children's programmes to benefit the local community in Cambodia.

Footprints was started and inspired by this quote which we firmly believe in; "Life is not about where you go, but about the footprints you leave behind in people's lives."
We are inspired to make a difference and we want to empower the youths to make a difference in the lives of others. We are looking for interested youth participants and volunteers to join us in this year's trip.

Outreach:

'See, Set, Smack' Badminton Programme:
We will be conducting weekly weekday afternoon sessions of badminton at Bishan Sports Complex. We hope to increase youths' interest in badminton as a healthy sport and recreation, and as an avenue whereby we keep in touch with our school programme youths and current Joule Mentoring Club members. Participants will be trained on the basic techniques and skills, and take part in friendly matches. Youths who are interested are encouraged to bring their own rackets.

Dates: 24Mar, 31 Mar, 7 Apr, 14 Apr, 21 Apr (tuesdays)
We will have sessions from Jul to Sep too.
Time: 3.30pm to 5.30pm
Venue: Bishan Sports Complex (near J8)

Cycling:
We will be organising 2 cycling trips on 3rd June and 31st Oct. We are looking for 40 to 50 youths and Joule Club members to join us in this fun and energetic sport! Join us as we cycle around Singapore!

REACH Dragons Paddle

Hi REACH Dragons,

For the team, I went to print a sticker that can be pasted on the paddle. it's our dragon logo, this sat you can see it on my paddle la..

And also for those want more, you can also print your own name in chinese characters and stick on the paddle too.. ha in case it gets mixed up with the rest next time.

So let me know if you want it k.. i can mass order for the stickers..

For those ordering the paddles, the picture can be seen above. it's $65..

For those who wants to order their own life vest, the pic can be seen above. it's $20..got black, blue and orange..will stick with one color?
